This company is the worst

Aug 01, 2014 by Dpetrie

This company is the worst company I have ever dealt with in regards to anything. I don't even know how they are still in business, if what they do is even legal. We shipped our car from calgary to Toronto and were told we would get upgrades every 48 hours, that did not happen. We were also told it would take less than 7 days, that did not Happen. When we went to pick up the car, the owner, jermaine took over 2 hours to tell us anything about where it was. Turns out he had contracted out another company to ship our car (we didn't approve of this or even know this was happening) and when our car arrived in Toronto jermaine refused to pay the bill to the company HE HIRED. Needless to say we were stuck with a bill of $1600 ON TOP of the $980 he had already taken off our visa BEFORE the car even shipped from calgary. It's all a SCAM!! These company's are working together to screw you over so they get way more money. We even had belongings in our car because they said we could do that and we weren't allowed to even get our things from the car until the $1600 was paid. It's all a fraud! These companies are the worst kind of people. They both screw you over and work together to do so, and both blame the other company. DO NOT EVER EVEN THINK OF USING DOUBLE LINE AUTO or any of its affiliates because I guarantee damage to your car will happen or you will owe way more money then the original quote, if you even get your car back in one piece. It's disgusting that they can get away with this. We even got the police involved but they can't do anything because it's a civil matter. Worst situation ever, worst people ever, horrible!

In conclusion

In Conclusion, there are four essential breaches of the contract.

First, there is a two weeks delay before delivery. There is no proper answer to this problem. According to the contract,
“DAILY DEPARTURES: Double Line Transport has trucks departing most cities across Canada on a daily basis. This means that your vehicle will not sit on a lot or in a warehouse for days waiting to be loaded, It will get to its destination faster.

EFFICIENT LOGISTICS: We have a better logistics system to get your vehicle moving. Most other companies will keep your vehicle until they get a full load going for example from Toronto to Calgary. Instead of waiting on a full load to go to one destination Double Line can load your vehicle with other units for example going to Winnipeg, Brandon, Regina this means your vehicle will be in Transit and not on a lot for a week or two like other carriers do.”
I see no “Daily Departures” or “Efficient Logistics”.

Second, it took three weeks for the delivery since I called in the first time. According to the contract, the estimated time should be “8 to 11 days”. You doubled your estimated time. There is no convincible reason.

Third, according to the contract,
"We provide your updates and peace of mind for the entire duration of your trip.”
Since the start to the end, I received no email or call from you, except the one asked me to pay and the one said “We will provide you with updates while in transit”.

Fourth, due to the delay, I have to rent cars for some things I have to use car. I rented from Zipcar, Budget and Avis. Besides, I have to use public transport for dailylife, which takes too much time and inconvenience.

Do not use this company!

I just shipped 2 Mercedes from Moncton to Ottawa.Drop-off terminal changed 3 times in 24 hours before departure. No walk around.
I was told that a Friday departure would be a Monday or Tuesday arrival. When I dropped the cars (pre-paid) the drop-off terminal said they needed a credit card….NO WAY!

Tuesday I called the toll free number for the dispatcher, 3 times and each time I was told he’d get back to me, but he never did. Then my wife called and was told they couldn’t contact the dispatcher…although declared he WAS at work.
Thursday I was told the cars were in Ottawa (email) but when I called to see where the keys might be etc. I was told that the cars in fact were in Montreal because they had been transported west while the keys were left in Moncton. Friday I received a call from the dispatcher saying the cars were in Ottawa. I asked where the keys were, and my contact person at the terminal..He said he’d call back…NOT A CHANCE! SO I called the business at the terminal address and the clerk there said there was a truck but it couldn’t unload because there was no ramp (?) and the a towing service had been brought in to unload the vehicles……but hey refused to unload unless they were paid. SO I called the dispatcher again… incredulous… and was told he’d check up on it and call me back. He never did….but the clerk at the business called us back and said the cars had been unloaded…and the usually the vehicles (in an unsecured lot) would probably have the keys in the tailpipe or the wheel-well. I never got this information from Double line.. I never got ANY information form Double Line… I eventually found a ride and went out 40 km to pick up our 2 Mercedes….which at first glance appeared fine, but each was missing 1/4 tank of fuel, and smelled of diesel or kerosene.

This whole episode was at best an adventure, but more appropriately a total screw-up. BEWARE!!!

Auto Transport Association , USA 1.0 1.0 12 12 I sent my car with double line from Ontario to Newfoundland and was told 7 yo 10 days. After 10 days I called and they told me my car was still in Nova Scotia because the driver ha
