New Bugatti Chiron

New Bugatti Chiron

How could it be otherwise. This supercar is obviously the star of the 2016 Geneva Auto Show and beyond its aerodynamic design, carbon fiber structure and perfect lines, it offers performance worthy of a heart attack and stands proudly as a worthy successor of the iconic Veyron which served to revive the brand and give back all the pedigree and prestige it once had during its infancy.

First, the Bugatti Chiron uses a unibody carbon fiber chasis that is as rigid as that of the Le Mans LMP1 prototype, the engine being an 8.0-liter W16 uses an array of four turbochargers (Twin-Scroll) to extract 1,478 horsepower at 6,700 rpm as well as 1,180 lb-ft of torque. These figures are nothing short of brutal even by today’s standards. The transmission is a DSG dual-clutch seven-speed.

According to camera measurements, the Chiron accelerates from 0-100 km/h in less than 2.5 seconds and its top speed is a blasting 420 km/h.

It supports five driving modes: Lift, Auto, Autobahn, Handling and Top Speed, each of them focused on managing the Chiron in a much more pleasant way and 75% of them dedicated to take advantage of all the power of this machine in the most efficient manner wether on the road, race track or drag strip, which should be as long as the runway of a large airport.

In addition, the interior is exquisite, featuring leather, carbon fiber and aluminum, while also being the first Bugatti to be equipped with wifi. The Chiron will have a limited production of 500 units – of which more than 100 are already sold. Another interesting fact is that Chiron is 154 kg heavier than its predecessor: the Bugatti Veyron.

This amazingly great model will cost a substantial $ 2.6 million US dollars. Gentlemen, get your checkbooks.
