Porsche unveiled its new V8 turbo engine at the International Vienna Motor Symposium which will berunning on the Panamera and Cayenne.

Based on the 3.0-liter V6 by Audi, this new block was previously unknown plus the engine integrates a cylinder deactivation system operating between 950 and 3,500 rpm. According to the German brand this technology will make it possible to reduce fuel consumption by up to 30 percent. Additionally C02 has also been lowered compared with the 4.8-liter V8 that it replaces.

The new Porsche Panamera Turbo will be the first car to work with this new V8 having an unbelievable output of 550 hp @ 5,750 rpm and torque of 568 lb-ft between 1,960 and 4,500 rpm.
